1.) YMCA university offers courses of studies based on a Christian profile in the fields of theology, social work and management. With 116hours nonstoplecture we hope to get valuable stimuli for current topics and questions.

2.) With this special event we want to introduce new aspects to the documenta-city Kassel, because the one-hour lectures will be held on campus as well as at other public places in the city. Therefore the 116hours nonstoplecture is open to all citizens.

3.) Maybe the most unusual of this “lecture marathon” is the goal: to raise at least 116.000 € for the development of our university.

How this can be achieved?
For every lecture, which is done by you, we want to raise 1.000 € contributions. Maybe you already know the principles of a sponsored run: the runner “collects” sponsors in his or her personal environment, who will then contribute a certain amount of money for every kilometer run – so for every lecture minute or hour.

Why 116 hours?
On March 27th, 2009, YMCA university was founded in Kassel. Within eight weeks, 116 so-called founders were found, who stood with their names and and some money behind this young university. This way, 186.668,-€ could be raised for the set-up the university. But these 116 haven’t only stuck up for the start of YMCA university, they are also godparents for 116hours nonstoplecture and will be supporting the further development of the university.
